WHAT TO EXPECT

Choosing your advisory team is an important and personal decision. We strive to make the process transparent, thoughtful and personal at every step.

1. Establish and define the relationship
We typically start relationships with a phone call or meeting to personally get to know each other, answer your questions, outline how we work with clients, and disclose our compensation model.

2. Understand your goals
We want to know your desires and aspirations and who you are as a person before we craft a financial plan.

3. Analyze and evaluate
We’ll review all your income sources, liquid investment savings, physical assets, debts, and your overall tax situation.

4. Develop a plan
Together, we’ll establish a comprehensive, personalized financial plan. We’ll walk you through your options, explain our recommendations, and risk test the plan against undesired events (e.g. income loss or market decline, disability).

5. Implement the plan
We’ll diversify investments, coordinate income collection, and develop relationships with your other critical advisors (e.g. CPAs, attorneys).

6. Monitor your financial wellbeing
We meet regularly with our clients to monitor and adjust plans when necessary.

FAQS

Am I qualified to be a MarsJewett client?

Most of our clients have a net worth of $1 million or more, however, we do not have a minimum portfolio size. For us, it’s much more about fit – determining if we have the right culture and expertise to deliver real value to you. The reality is that for many people with less accumulated wealth, their finances may not be complex enough to justify the fees associated with comprehensive wealth management. It may be sufficient to set goals and put a plan in place that you can manage yourself. However, we are always happy to meet with you and discuss your unique situation.

What are your fees?

  • Fees for Comprehensive Financial Planning
  • Investment Advisory Fee based on Assets Under Management (AUM)
